On the verge of giving up
Friday, August 17, 2007
Sigh.

I am. On the verge. Of giving up. On the Nikon EM. Urgh.

The first roll - I ended up loading the film wrongly. Which none of the frames were exposed at all. Because the film didn't move along as I stroke the winding lever after each time I take a pic. I think all 36+ shots were basically just .. um .... wasted! Yep. WASTED. My effort of composing. My dedication. My all. :(

After the incident, I looked at the instruction diagram again. So I tried loading as what I see from the diagram. I thought I have gotten it right this time. But .......

....... I've already stroked the winding lever way past 36 frames. Way past as in like more than 5 frames. And I could still stroke the lever easily. Which could only mean one thing.

That the film must have (again) not gotten loaded properly.

Urgh! *pulls hair*

All shots. Wasted. W-A-S-T-E-D.

:(

hi nikon film manuals are pretty sensitive like girls..u got to handle them with gentleness.

When inserting the film end into the back...carefully attach the film end to the groove and turn it a bit just to make sure its locked inside..this grove which closes the gap of the film and the winders are made in such as way that you only need to crank the lever after closing the camera back.

DOnt worry this happens to folks who even uses film backs for more than 14 years :P

Thanks, leslie! Yep, I finally found out last week that I had to slot the film into the groove to grip it *slaps forehead* I didn't know those grooves were meant to grip the start of the film!!! Hehe, so silly of me *LOL*
