*yawn*

I've been waking up pretty early this week. At 5.30 this morning, coz I needed to fetch my hubby to the bus station. And then at 4.30 on Sunday morning, to attend the 6.30am St. Anne's mass at Klang >_< I'm not really an early riser ... so please pardon the yawns!

*yawns*

It was a wet St. Anne's on Sunday. It had been raining from the time we left the condo right up until after breakfast after the mass!

I wonder if the rain were showers of blessings. Or to wash away all my sins -_-"

Raindrops on the car's windscreeen.

It was only 8.30am when we finished our breakfast after the mass, and about 9 after I dropped my parents back home. Well, since we've already woken up so early ... why not go take some pictures >_< Hehehe ...

And so off we went to the Butterfly Farm in KL. This is my first time (really!) getting up so close to so many butterflies flying everywhere :D And my first time trying out the styrofoam diffuser under such low-light condition o_o

We were so early, I think we were probably one of the first 5 entrants! Because of the after-rain, the weather was rather cooling and wet. So the butterflies were mostly all gathered high up on the net covering, resting and rather inactive. Only very few were flying around the flowers collecting pollen and nectar from one to another. One of the cleaners there told me, they usually fly low and become more active when it's warmer. And sure enough, come lunch hour when the weather started to heat up, the butterflies starting flying down. I think they must be so hungry, they thought my slippers were flowers >_<

Either that ... or they were attracted to the smell of my feet :P

Photographing butterflies isn't an easy task. When they're really active, they fly from one flower to the next rather quickly, leaving you with very very little time to shoot them. You've gotta be really slick and quick! Of which none of them I am >_< Hehe!

I was on manual mode, so I had to do the focusing and composing as fast as I could ... not to mention the time to get close to the subject. And that alone cannot be done in a swift action, because you (ok, I) will scare off the butterflies. I had to move in slowly and steadily, therefore I couldn't manage any butterflies in "action" :( ... So I focused on resting ones instead. And dead ones, too. And dragonflies. Lots of dragonfly attempts :D

We spent easily about 4 hours there. Well, "easily" for me lah ... but I think the same can't be said for the hubby >_< I was walking around here and there with the kickass diffuser on my camera, when I suddenly saw this tourist!

My-my ... now *that* is what I call kickass >_< He was shooting the butterflies from a distance while I had to take all the trouble to move in closely and steadily and slowly and most of the time as I am about to press that button, the butterfly flies away ..... sigh! Well, I took a step aside ... didn't want to be a nuisance to him by shoo-ing away all his subjects *LOL*

How was your Sunday?
