Am finally done selecting and processing the pics from the recent outing to Bukit Cahaya Sri Alam. Located in Shah Alam, Selangor, this park boasts a massive land of more than 1200ha wide. Offering a variety of recreational activities like jungle-trekking, fishing, cycling and of course *ahem* photography, this is one helluva big of a park! From a past trip and experience, I seriously won't recommend cycling :P unless you're really game for it! So we stuck to walking around. And boy oh boy, our slow and steady walk (with stops in between for taking pics) took us around 3-4 hours and I somehow doubt we even managed to cover 30% of the entire park!
We almost started here, but decided the other way instead.

My initial objective was to try out my cool-looking diffuser *LOL* Yeah, it drew weird reactions and faces from the rest, but heck ... don't try won't know! What diffuser? An al-cheapo way of diffusing light from the in-built flash on my camera - styrofoam plate! Well, I learnt about this from a local forum but since I didn't have a bowl, I resorted to using a plate instead :P
Yeah, laugh all you want!!! :P

Didn't really work out well. I guess I have yet to really master it. Here are two shots that I took using this diffuser. They were really tiny flowers growing on the ground. Love the hairs on the flower :D

But nope, flowers weren't really the top subject I was aiming for this time. I was eager to try bugs and critters. However ......... I think I must have been looking really haggard and sweaty and fugly that day. The bugs must have gotten really shocked or scared and decided to scurry away whenever I tried to get close!
See, this ant was so shocked he almost fell off the leaf!

*LOL* On a serious note, I think I have a long way to go on how to approach them. Most importantly, I think I need to learn to be more gentle :P and patient *LOL* I need to learn to approach them gently and patiently, unlike how I did that day - clumsy and timid! Yah, I was afraid they'd fly at me, sting me, bite me, etc etc :P
I didn't get any more than 2 clear and crisp shots of a bug. Complete failure!!! I think Jon scored much better than me! The best I could find is this dragonfly (which I think was snacking on a moth!!), and even then I didn't get the eyes sharp :(

Ah well. Feeling such a complete crap and failure, I decided to capture textures, patterns, colours and such instead. Easy-peasy subjects, albeit boring and done-to-death!

*phew*
Everyone got tired after a while. And so we took a rest.

Before we proceeded on to the Four Season House. It was summer the time we went. Thank goodness the temperature inside was between 15-20 degree Celcius, unlike our local
summer temperature here :P Nothing really fascinating in there. Just more flowers, and of course much, much cooler air :D

Spent about half hour in the Season House and then a short while more out in the park before we hitched a free ride on a bus back to the main entrance/exit. And decided to call it a day!
But I tell you, I could almost swear the fruits and seeds and plants in the park were making faces at me!!! Really!!!
