It was a good weekend generally. On Saturday evening, I went on a photography outing with hubby and friends J&J (Jason & Jon). Cassie, too. Sekinchan. For its paddy fields.
We totally had no idea how to get there. We just kasi hentam only. Taking the LDP highway heading to Kepong, we turned left down the flyover (instead of going up) shortly after the toll. Then it was a long strech, and I really mean loooooong strech, of Sg. Buloh before eventually reaching Ijok and then Assam Jawa. Just follow the directions to Kuala Selangor on the signboards. Note then however, that here was a right turning at a traffic light somewhere along Sg. Buloh to Ijok. This turning was tricky because the signboard was soooo inappropriately placed few meters after and in front of the traffic lights and partially hidden behind a tree (or something), you could miss it easily. At the end of Assam Jawa, we took another right turn at the traffic lights into Kuala Selangor. Then it was another long drive, passing Kuala Selangor, Pasir Penambang and Tanjong Karang, before finally reaching Sekinchan. You could spot the paddy fields from the road, and there were a lot of roadside stalls selling fruits arranged very nicely :)
We randomly drove into one of the many fields, parked along some land before making it on foot into the fields. We spent almost 2 hours taking pictures and walking around, until it was sunset and Jon cried hungry :P We (well, or rather I) were hoping to get some nice sunset shots, but it was overcast that evening. Didn't get blue skies, didn't get golden skies either. But it was still a enjoyable experience. I expect too much, sometimes ... most of the times :P
We had dinner at one of the many seafood restaurants in Kuala Selangor. Restoran Kuala Selangor >_< Indeed. The food was so-so, but it failed me immediately when the waitress said they didn't have clams that day!!!!!! What? No clams????!!!!! *#!@*~ We ordered crabs (2 varieties - salt-baked and marmite) and
zhuk-tan (
kam-heong style). And fried squids. Taufu and some vege, too.
Can you guess what I had?!

Sunday was church day. Thenafter just pure lazing and napping at home. But for dinner, I had crabs. Again. But this time, cooked in my favourite style ... with salted egg yolk!!!!!! *drooling*
Crabs again, at Pantai Seafood Restaurant in Kayu Ara!

It was not as good as the one I had before in La-La Chong Seafood Restaurant in Subang. But better than nothing. I think I ate the most >_< Didn't feel nice having the rest wait for me to finish up, so I ended up taking away the remainder. And finished it while watching CSI at home. *burp*
Photos taken in Sekinchan will be up later. Slowly. When I find some time to edit them. I'm still struggling to keep up with work since my 4-days MC -_-"
