Our main purpose of going to Bangkok - shopping! Yes, shopping. But of course, I personally had other intentions and plans other than just plain shopping :)
But yes, shopping is a must when you're in Bangkok. Not those renowned and branded ones. The wholesale ones. Wholesale shopping means having to buy like 2 to 4 pieces to qualify for a special wholesale price. Basically, it's the more you buy, the cheaper you can get them for.
Suan Lum Night Bazaar. Though the things here are just a tad more expensive than what you'd get at the Platinum shopping mall, it was maybe just a mere 10 or 30 Baht (that's about a ringgit or three here in Malaysia). But I find that it's almost the same way things are done there - the more you buy, the more you can bargain for.

You could get almost anything here. Food, clothes, accessories, decors, gifts, etc. Almost like our Central Market here, only thing is they're so much bigger with many varieties of goods, and of course, things are cheap!

How cheap could things go? I bought a necktie for my hubby for a mere 100 Baht, and that was like what? Only RM10 back here??!! But of course, we (my brother-in-law and I) bought a total of 3 ... which allowed us to bargain for that price! But still, it's really cheap.

The very first item I bought on my shopping adventures!

I was soooo very tempted to get one of these!

The place is really huge, and I don't think you'll miss it! Because it has a giant ferris wheel!

Next stop, next day - the Platinum shopping mall. The massive wholesale mall, with 5 floors for a therapeutic shopping session. I didn't get many pictures, I got stopped by the guard right after taking this shot. Apparently, photography is not allowed in the mall. Whaddaheck!!!!!! Well, probably for security reasons since the New Year bombing incidents.

Things were really cheap here. Did I say that word again??! Yes ... cheap! Look at these tees you can get there. It was like 130B, and back home here (according to my sister) it could go to around RM30 per piece. I don't know ... but to me, RM13 for a tee is filthy cheap. Oh *faints*

Same goes, the more you buy, the cheaper you'll get. But I find that coming up with 3 or 4 pieces from one shop is not really easy for someone of my petite size. I so badly wanted to get some tees, but the Small size here just don't fit me (or rather my arms) very snugly. And they operate in shops, not like a departmental store kind. So it's not always that easy to end up with 3 or 4 pieces from one shop. But luckily, I had my mum and younger sister with me ... so that kinda helped us to come up with the "wholesale quantity" needed for better bargains.
My therapeutic session of about 3 - 4 hours only got me a total of 3 tops, 2 bottoms, 1 tee! Total disappointment :( I was targetting for more!!! But not long after starting, you'll soon find that everything gradually starts to look the same ... and soon enough, your eyes and legs will be crying for a break!!!
Those were about the only "real" shopping adventures I had during the trip. The others did more shopping - Mah Boon Krong (MBK) for lotsa junk food, Central World Plaza, and god-knows where else they went - when I went off for the Ayutthaya tour on the 3rd day.
If you're really into shopping at Bangkok, go with an almost empty luggage. And then fill it up with your prizes and outcomes!!! Almost everyone will tell you this same thing!
