Oh, the 4d/3n trip to Bangkok was good. Family bonding time with the sisters and mother. Coupled with lotsa shopping. And a
(rather disappointing) trip to Ayutthaya.
Flew with AirAsia. Not bad a flight I'd say for a meager RM49.99 for the departure. Can't remember the price for the return tickets though. It was free seating, but we got the privilege of being the first few to board - thanks to my nephew (child) and my mum (senior citizen)!!! *evil grin*

Flight took about 2 hours, and there I was ... standing on the grounds of Bangkok, Thailand!

The place we stayed at was pretty good. One-bedroom serviced apartment. Though three of us had to share a king-sized bed, it wasn't too bad afterall. At least someone didn't have to sleep at the joints of two single beds (like what happened in Hong Kong between my two sisters and I)!! To my relief, the bathroom was spacious and most importantly clean! I'm kinda paranoid when it comes to hotel bathrooms!

This was where we stayed.

The
Somerset Suwan Park View serviced residence. Located along Ploenchit road, with the Chit Lom BTS station nearby.
Looking down the balcony of our apartment on the 19th floor.

And this was the view of Bangkok from the balcony of our apartment.

I don't think many taxi drivers knew the place. I'd say probably only 1 out of 5 taxi drivers would know exactly where the place is. We had to bring along with us a namecard (with a map printed at the back) to show to the drivers whenever we needed a ride back. And probably only 1 out of 2 would take us even with the namecard. Well, that was maybe the only drawback of staying at that place.
Lotsa photos taken during the trip. Lotsa to be edited. Will be putting them up slowly as I progress with the selection, edits and all.
