Bangkok : Cruise Along Chao Praya
Tuesday, February 27, 2007
*yawn*

Sorry for the yawn(s), but I guess this must have been probably the un-interesting part of my trip to Bangkok. But I'll just jot down for notes sake!

If you've been following my posts on my Bangkok trip, you would have probably noticed how often I ranted about this part of my trip. No joke, I'd rather spend it in any other way - shopping, temple-hopping, etc. But at least the good side to this was opening my eye to the clusters of buildings and architecture along the banks of the Chao Praya river, and a not-bad lunch buffet! Nope, not a very fancy or luxurious buffet but I guess the food was good to my taste.

There's really nothing much to shout about, so I'll just zoom past. After touring Ayutthaya for the first half of the day, we boarded a boat with River Sun Cruise that brought us on a cruise along the Chao Praya river. Lunch on board, then it was free-and-easy along the way.

On the inside, some were probably having a good drink or two. A good chat or maybe enjoying the view from inside. Outside, some were having fun under the sun on the deck at the front and back of the boat, probably hoping to get some tans! I wanted to stay inside but the air-conditioning was quite cold for me (yes, I'm not very good at tolerating low temperatures!), so I decided to stay outside with my sister who also was trying to get herself tanned. Yeah, tanned ... as if! All she got was a burnt cheek and nose *LOL*

Some were just looking left and right, hoping for the time to pass by. That included me! Along the way, you'll have an insight of the myriad buildings along the river bank. Houses, temples, more houses, manufacturing plants, and more temples.

You'll also catch a glimpse of the Grand Palace.

Oh, I finally spotted a church/chapel in Bangkok!

Holy Rosary Church

The sun was starting to get hotter, and I could at times feel it burning my skin! I was hoping even more for the time to pass by faster. Continued killing time with more snaps. Oh, it wasn't easy trying to get straight-up shots when you're shooting from a moving boat! I had to fix so many of my pictures from this cruise, rotating them left and right.

And then finally *phew*, the boat docked and we all got down as the cruise sailors and employees bid us farewell with salutes.

Coming up next ... Wat Hua Lampong!
